About the course
This course will help you write your Statement of Purpose (SOP) and ensure that you draft a SOP which truly shows who you are.
The principles used in this course can be applied to various college and admission essays including (but not limited to)—common app essay questions, letters of motivation, MiM essays, essays for college admissions in MBA programs, essays for college admissions in Masters’ programs, specific college essay questions, and others.

The Course includes
This section talks about the summary overview of the entire course.
This section explains the principles of the Design Thinking Process and how they can be applied to building a statement of purpose.
In this stage of the course you shall try to understand the key themes of your life that you may want to highlight in your admission essay.
In this stage you shall articulate or define your story. You will put together the cluster of information you obtained in the Empathize stage to form new ideas.
In this stage you shall uncover patterns, and connections across different incidents of your life. You shall organize your findings into a logical structure.
In this step you shall decide the topic sentences for your body paragraphs. A topic sentence is the first sentence of every paragraph.
Once you have developed your theme and created strong topic sentences for your body paragraph, your SOP is virtually ready. In this stage you shall put in the corroborating points across the body of your SOP
Testing is an opportunity for you to receive feedback on your SOP draft. The feedback will help you to refine your draft.
In this step you shall refine the version of your essay basis the feedback received in the previous ‘testing’ phase.
In this step you shall go through the key points of this course and shall have the opportunity to refine main concepts. You may also submit the SOP thus made for review by an IVY League graduate.

I am a graduate of MIT and am proud to present this course to you which is born out of research of thousands of admission essays. Along with inputs from my co-conspirators – Nitin Goyal from Stanford, and Vidisha from Harvard, we have gleaned our collective expertise together in the form of this course: Design Think Your Statement of Purpose and other College Admission Essays.
